Tesoro del Oeste began in San Sebastián del Oeste with a desire to bring our region’s raicilla tradition to more people.
That search led us to work alongside those who know the craft and become producers of a raicilla that carries the character of the Sierra.
On rides through the Sierra, our founder came to know the agaves growing among these mountains. That closeness inspired the decision to share the raicilla heritage of San Sebastián del Oeste and make a raicilla of our own.
Finding our profile took a little over a year of trials and adjustments. We worked with the agaves and with the knowledge of raicilla makers until we recognized in the glass a flavor that felt like ours.
Chuy Dueñas’s connection to raicilla began in childhood. Today, his experience guides every batch at our distillery. We are producers, and the craft lives in the decisions we make together.
Since 2021 we have continued refining the process and exploring different agaves, profiles and selections. The collection that grew from that work shows how many flavors the same Sierra can reveal.
